How Can You or Your Business Get Involved?

Sponsor a family event throughout the year.
Offer job shadowing for adolescents at your business.
Become a sponsor of a local childcare center or another child-related agency by providing financial contributions, supporting training programs, and/or upgrading facilities and equipment.
Dedicate a day where parents can bring their children to work.
Encourage employees to volunteer for Year of the Child events or for a local agency that provides services for children and their families.
Help advertise local events, children’s health care information, local children’s programs, and other activities related to children.
Help keep local parks and green spaces clean and safe for our community’s children.
Encourage your staff to volunteer at local schools, childcare centers, and other agencies and offer them paid time off or other incentives to do this.
Offer part-time summer work for adolescents at your business.
Volunteer to speak at elementary, middle, and high schools regarding your business, career successes, and/or academic experience.
Place a box for donations of food, toiletries, clothing, and/or toys at your business to help our local food pantries and childcare centers
Take the time to be educated about children’s issues in Morgantown by joining a committee on children and family issues.
Be a mentor for a child in need by volunteering at a local youth center. Just Google "Morgantown Social Services" and find a place that interests you.
Give your used clothing, furniture and toys for use by a needy family.
Write a letter to the editor addressing children issues.

Join an action E-list at www.preventchildabusewv.org.
Provide a nurturing home for your own children.
